COVID-19 Protocols

With the ever-changing guidelines and protocols, we are committed to keeping you safe.

Your Health and Safety Are Always Top Priorities

As we welcome back families to our practice, we want you to feel comfortable and confident about your visit. At 16th Avenue Dental, we’re committed to providing a safe environment by implementing extra precautions and infection control standards.
We closely monitor the latest COVID-19 protocols, and our goal is to exceed the Alberta Dental Association and Canadian Dental Association dental health and safety guidelines through hospital-grade sterilization equipment and sterilization practices.
Please take a moment to complete your COVID-19 Pre-Screening Form before your visit, and read on to see what’s changed.

Here’s What to Expect:

Your Appointment:

  • Please fill out the COVID-19 Pre-Screening Form before your appointment
  • If you’re not feeling well, please do not come to the clinic, call us at 403-282-9141 and we’ll be happy to reschedule your appointment.
  • Our front door will remain locked and for appointment only. We ask that you call us upon arrival to be COVID-19 screened prior to entering the clinic
  • Only the Patient, or Patient and one Guardian/Caregiver will be given access to the clinic, up to a maximum of 2 individuals (including the Patient)
  • Upon entering the clinic, you’ll be given a mask if you don’t have one

Our Office:

  • Our team will be wearing enhanced PPE (exceeding the standards required)
  • Large plexiglass sneeze guard at reception
  • Continued strict sterilization monitoring: All dental instruments and headpieces (drills) are sterilized in a high-pressure steam autoclave daily (the computerized system warns us if there’s an incomplete sterilization, plus we have an external biological indicator to ensure the autoclave functions properly)
  • All surfaces, including countertops, dental chairs, stools, light handles, and control buttons, are disinfected before and after every patient
  • Many of the items we use are discarded after a single use (examples include saliva ejectors, high-speed suction tips, drinking cups, rubber cleaning cups, patient bibs, tray covers, sterilization bags, mixing pads, mixing tips, anesthetic carpules, needle tips, gloves, and masks)
We Are Here for You
