  • Botox® for Frown Lines
  • Botox® for Forehead Wrinkles
  • Botox® for Crows Feet
  • Botox® for Bruxism (TMJ/TMD)

Dr. Le will start your Botox® consultation with an assessment and careful evaluation of your facial muscles and smile prior to any injections. If you are looking for Botox® for cosmetic purposes, she will discuss your smile goals and expectations so she can develop a personalized plan just for you!

What is Botox® and How Is It Applied?

Botox® is a brand name drug that contains a toxin called botulin. Botulin is a naturally purified protein that is considered safe when injected in small, targeted doses. When Botox® is injected, just a tiny amount relaxes the overworked muscles that cause wrinkles, lines, and can even relax the spastic muscles that cause jaw pain.

The injection technique itself is nothing like injections used for dental freezing. Dr. Le uses a tiny needle that even anxious patients suffering needle phobias are amazed at how comfortable and simple the procedure is. The injections only take a few minutes, and results can usually be seen in just a few days.

Typically, injections need to be repeated every three to four months to maintain effectiveness in order to stop fine lines, wrinkles, and muscle spasms reoccurring.

The procedure is so simple; you should be able to return to normal activity immediately after your appointment!

Botox® For Cosmetic Treatments

Dentists are not just Dentists anymore! Since Dr. My Le is licensed to provide Botox® Cosmetic procedures to her patients, who understands the structures of the face, smile, and appearance better than a dentist!  Dentists are in a unique position as they understand the relationship between bone structure, facial muscles, facial nerves, and facial tissues as well as the skin of the face, so Dr. My Le is in a unique position to provide you with cosmetic care.

Dr. Le can treat Crow’s Feet, Facial Wrinkles, Forehead Lines, and Vertical Forehead Lines. When Botox® is used in these areas, you typically see a noticeable reduction within 24 to 48 hours of your treatment. When Botox® is injected, your facial muscles relax, so they no longer create creases and wrinkles. This way, you will experience a smoothing of your skin, taking years off your appearance so you can feel great!

These treatments last up to four months; the injections are quick, efficient, and painless, allowing you to have natural looking results that are easy to maintain with periodic touch-ups!

Botox® For Bruxism (Teeth Grinding)

Prior to Botox® ever being used for Cosmetic procedures, it was originally developed and used to provide relief for those suffering from spastic or clenched muscles in the face!  Botox® has been used for many years to relax facial muscles in order to relieve the pain and discomfort of TMD/TMJ Bruxism (Teeth Grinding) issues. It can also be used by a licensed provider to aid in chronic migraines and headaches relief.

So, if you are suffering from Jaw Pain or teeth grinding issues, instead of surgical options or other Bruxism treatments, Botox® treatments can be a good non-surgical alternative to relieve your soreness and discomfort. Since the TMJ (temporomandibular joint) is located on both sides of your head at the point where the jawbone meets the skull, relieving the muscular tension in the Masseter muscle can provide you with the relief you are seeking.

So, if you are having difficulty eating, talking, swallowing, or if you suffer from teeth grinding, tension headaches or suffer sharp jaw pains, Botox® has been proven to be an effective treatment to provide patients with pain relief.

How Much Does Botox® Cost?

The cost of Botox® injections varies depending on how many units of Botox® are required for your specific treatment needs. Obviously, multiple treatment areas will cost more than a single injection of because of the number of units required. When you come to your complimentary consultation at 16TH AVENUE DENTAL, we will provide you with a cost estimate for your treatment.
